Summer Associate Hub is a content and resource hub for law students embarking on the 2L summer associate recruiting process. Â We offer easy and digestible content on various BigLaw practice areas and recruiting advice, giving law students a destination to prepare for the job search.
Summer Associate Hub was created by the team at Lateral Hub (lateralhub.com), the popular online lateral job board for top-tier firms. Â After several firms asked for resources to attract law students (in addition to laterals), the Lateral Hub team spoke with countless recruiting directors, law school career advisors, and law students, and realized that a new resource was needed… especially with the increased popularity of pre-OCI recruiting.
— Law students felt like they didn’t know what it meant to work in different areas in BigLaw, such as M&A or Litigation. Â
— Law firms were struggling to promote themselves to law students before OCI, stretched thin by the summer program occurring at the same time, and relying on inefficient law school-specific programming campus-by-campus. Â (Gone are the days of the in-person OCI hospitality suite, where the firm could meet hundreds of students throughout the week!)
— Law schools were looking for resources to support their students, especially those who are looking to work in geographies or practice areas that are not a traditional pipeline for the school.

— Law firms use our platform and law student audience to promote the firm to possible hires, by showcasing their attorneys in our PRACTICE IN P0.1NT ONE video series, sponsoring our content, and participating in virtual events for law students.
— Law schools use our platform to support their students with content and virtual programming that the school may not have the resources to devote on its own.

Summer Associate Hub is designed for today’s law students.  We leverage easy and digestible short-form video, written, and interactive content to teach students about practice areas and providing helpful advice, through our website and social media.  No long, boring articles that students won’t read.
A great example is our new video series, PRACTICE IN P0.1NT ONE, where we interview law firm attorneys and recruiting professionals about their day-to-day practice and recruiting advice, each in under six minutes (also known as 0.1 billable hours). Â
We also partner with top legal education providers and creators to promote practice area-specific videos and exercises, and helpful recruiting-related content.
